Introducing our newest creation, the Bespoke Glass Lamp, meticulously handcrafted to bring a piece of Ireland's rugged beauty into your home. This lamp is a true work of art, inspired by the enchanting landscapes of Connemara and crafted with passion and precision.

Design and Craftsmanship

The lamp features a round, chunky shape that evokes the sturdy elegance of a porthole, symbolizing a window to the mystical world outside. The frame is handcrafted from spalted beech wood, known for its unique patterns and strength, providing a solid and rustic foundation that complements the intricate glasswork.

At the heart of this piece lies the glass center, created using a special metalsmithing technique developed over the past 20 years. This innovative method allows for a seamless blend of art and craft, resulting in a mesmerizing glass panel that captures the essence of Connemara.

Inspiration

The image within the glass is of a Connemara tree, specifically the twisted and bent hawthorn trees that are shaped by the relentless Atlantic winds. These trees are a hallmark of the Connemara landscape in County Galway, and I pass many of them on my way to the studio each morning. Their mysterious and enduring presence has deeply inspired me, and I have endeavored to capture their spirit in this lamp.

Unique Features

• Glass Center: The central glass panel depicts a Connemara tree, with a round 3D glass crystal embedded under it, representing a serene sunset over the sea. This element adds depth and a touch of magic to the scene, making it a focal point of the design.

• Art Glass Layers: The glass features a double layer of art glass, symbolizing the horizon and ocean. The top part of the circular panel showcases warm orange and brown tones, reminiscent of a sunset bathing the landscape in its golden light.

• Metalwork: The metal work around the glass is finished in an aged copper finish, adding a timeless and sophisticated touch that enhances the overall aesthetic of the lamp.

Each lamp is supplied with a rocker ON/OFF switch, on a gold coloured electric lead with a 13A 3 pin plug. Approx size: 11.5" wide x 11" tall x 2.7" deep.  All our lamps are supplied with an E27 L.E.D. bulb, and are P.A.T. tested. You can change the bulb types for a different atmosphere and look to the glass, changing its mood.
