Introducing the "Celtic Crystal Tree" from the Porthole Collection

I am delighted to present a new creation in my Porthole Collection—"Celtic Crystal Tree," a piece inspired by the ancient beauty and mystical aura of Celtic nature. This lamp is a tribute to the deep-rooted connection between Irish heritage, nature, and the timeless wisdom symbolised by trees in Celtic tradition.

Craftsmanship and Design

At the heart of the "Celtic Crystal Tree" is a round sphere glass crystal, symbolising the soul of the earth and the essence of life. This crystal centerpiece reflects light beautifully, capturing its surroundings and casting soft, radiant beams across the room.

Encircling the crystal is an intricate copper tree, crafted by hand with graceful, twisting branches. Each branch has been designed with care, reminiscent of ancient Celtic trees often seen in folklore and artwork. The copper, with its warm, earthy tones and natural patina, adds depth and contrast to the design, giving the tree a timeless and enduring quality.

Surrounding the copper tree is an array of stained glass in varying shades of green—from deep, lush emerald to softer mossy hues. These greens are carefully chosen to evoke the feeling of standing amidst the rich forests of Ireland, bathed in natural light. The glass, when lit, shimmers with a vibrant yet calming glow, reminiscent of the rolling hills and ancient woodlands.

Inspiration

The "Celtic Crystal Tree" draws inspiration from both the natural world and Celtic mythology, where trees hold sacred significance. In Celtic lore, trees are symbols of wisdom, strength, and the interconnectedness of all living things. The tree of life motif, often found in Celtic art, represents the eternal cycle of nature and growth.

The combination of the sphere glass crystal and the copper tree captures this symbolism perfectly, creating a beautiful representation of the interconnectedness between earth and sky, light and shadow, life and nature. The greens in the glass evoke the mystical forests that have inspired Irish artists and storytellers for centuries.

Lighting and Versatility

The "Celtic Crystal Tree" is not just a lamp; it’s an artistic centerpiece that transforms any room it graces. When illuminated, the light passes through the sphere glass crystal, casting a warm and inviting glow. The greens in the glass panels come alive, while the copper tree is softly illuminated, its branches standing out against the vibrant background. The play of light creates a magical effect that shifts and evolves depending on the time of day and the lighting conditions.

Like all pieces in the Porthole Collection, this lamp works beautifully in various settings. Whether placed on a mantel, a bedside table, or near a window where the sunlight can pass through the glass, the "Celtic Crystal Tree" adds a touch of nature and a nod to Irish heritage to any room.

A Unique Piece of Art

Each "Celtic Crystal Tree" lamp is handcrafted, making every piece one-of-a-kind. The delicate balance between the crystal sphere, copper tree, and stained glass ensures that no two lamps are exactly the same. It is a true celebration of the craftsmanship and the natural beauty that inspires all of my work.

I hope the "Celtic Crystal Tree" brings a sense of peace, wisdom, and the timeless beauty of nature into your home. Whether you are drawn to its Celtic symbolism or its artistic expression, this lamp will light up your space with its natural, glowing warmth and its quiet connection to the earth.
