Inspired by winter trips to Co.Wexford, and my love of lighthouses. Hook Lighthouse is a medieval lighthouse off the south coast of County Wexford. It is thought to be one of the oldest operational lighthouses in the world. When the lighthouse at Hook became fully automated in 1996, there was no longer any need for resident keepers. It was decided then to open it up to the public, and if you are in the area, it is well worth a visit.
