Three Fish, One Journey – A Glass Story in Light

Introducing Scales of Light, a striking new stained glass lamp handcrafted in collaboration by Sue and Kate in our coastal studio. This unique piece is a three-sided pyramid-shaped lamp, perched on a solid, chunky walnut wooden base, combining both strength and elegance.

What makes this lamp truly special is its rotating glass design. Simply lift and turn the stained glass panels to choose the colour story that suits your mood—vibrant fiery reds and oranges, calming misty blues with purples, or rich emerald greens. It's like having three lamps in one.

Each of the three triangular panels features an upward-swimming fish, created using a mosaic of 137 individually hand-cut opal and mottled art glass pieces. Their scale-like patterns shimmer with texture, and when illuminated, the fins take on the shape of candle flames—symbols of guidance, hope, and homecoming.

The three fish—each distinct in colour—seem to swim toward light, a quiet metaphor for growth, return, and the shifting tides of life. The base of the panels are made with handmade turquoise blues and purple mottled art glass, bringing all the colours together in perfect harmony.

Crafted using the traditional Tiffany technique, every single piece is copper-foiled and soldered by hand, then completed with a rich pewter patina, both inside and out. A one-of-a-kind design, made to be treasured.

Each lamp is supplied with a rocker ON/OFF switch, on a gold coloured electric lead with a 13A 3 pin plug. Approx size: 6" wide x 11" tall.  All our lamps are supplied with an E27 L.E.D. bulb, and are P.A.T. tested. You can change the bulb types for a different atmosphere and look to the glass, changing its mood.
