The Lighthouse

"Under a blue moon" inspired by winter trips to Co.Wexford, and my love of lighthouses. Hook Lighthouse is a medieval lighthouse off the south coast of County Wexford. It is thought to be one of the oldest operational lighthouses in the world. When the lighthouse at Hook became fully automated in 1996, there was no longer any need for resident keepers. It was decided then to open it up to the public, and if you are in the area, it is well worth a visit.

The verse melted onto the glass ( Life take you to unexpected places, love brings you home) is painted by hand on an aqua sky blue background, red sail boat, and hand painted lighthouse added, and fired in a kiln over 48 hours at very high temperatures. This unique art piece comes framed in a cream wooden frame made locally, ready for hanging on a wall. Also available in a black frame by special commission.
