My inspiration for creating this terrarium came after recieving an old broken terrarium to repair one day, that belonged to my late father, he loved his house plants!
This large geometric terrarium container handcrafted with Tiffany's stained glass technique and featuring a dodecahedron form; one thing you need on a mid-century coffee table along with your favorite magazines to add that modern minimalistic look to your home.
This piece is perfect to use as a moss terrarium or succulent planter, with its semi-closed spherical form helps to keep the moisture high, this container is great for plants which enjoy high humidity levels. With consistent and careful watering, you can turn this container into a beautiful succulent garden. Try mixing some haworthias with a few attractive echeverias and put your geometric garden on a side table.
Other colours available made to order. Base of glass is felted to protect furniture surfaces. Commissions welcome.
Each glass piece is cleaned then hand cut to the proper shape. Using a glass grinder, the edges are ground down to be smooth. Next the glass pieces are foiled using adhesive copper foil. Once folied, the pieces are fitted together and soldered along every seam. The terrarium is now ready to be washed, brushed with steel wool and have a patina applied. The final step is brushing on a finishing compound that keeps the solder seams looking polished and shiny!
